Antonio Alcorn (University of Connecticut) is a computer science major at the University of Connecticut. His computing interests include relational databases, user interfaces, and web interactivity. He has been a part of the Trinity College Sahana team since 2006, and has been programming on various systems since the late 1990s. His first computer was the family's Macintosh SE II, which he started using at age 3. In his spare time, he pursues freelance web development work and plays guitar.
Sam DeFabbia-Kane (Wesleyan University) hails from Canadice, New York, and is a rising Junior (and CS Major) at Wesleyan University. This summer he's working on the Remarks Project for OpenMRS as well as on Virtual EOC. He's interested in anonymity, distributed networking, and user interface design.
Nicolae Dragu (Trinity College) is from a distant place called Romania (no, it's not in Africa!), he is a rising sophomore at Trinity College and he is planning on majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Architectural Studies. He enjoys computer graphics, good quality shooters, architecture, music and electric guitars. He is currently working for HFOSS on building an application that would help InSTEDD predict and prevent the spread of diseases (no, seriously!).
Fouad El Khoury (University of Hartford) is from the Paris of the Middle East, Beirut, Lebanon. He is a rising junior at the University of Hartford, double majoring in Computer Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. This summer, he is working on the Evolve project which is part of inSTEDD. He is the President of the University of Hartford IEEE student chapter. His goal is to get involved in the IEEE community. During his free time, Fouad is interested in working out, Kung Fu, and soccer.
Chris Fei (Trinity College) is a member of the Class of 2010 at Trinity College. He became interested in computer science when it was suggested that he take a CS class in High School back home in New Jersey. He is currently pursuing a major in Computer Science and Mathematics. This summer, he is working on the POSIT and Apptrac projects. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, driving, and playing hockey.
Rachel Foecking (Trinity College) is a rising junior at Trinity College from Cleveland, Ohio. She enjoys changing people's desktops when they aren't around and and hopes to continue her studies in computer science at Trinity while sitting around playing video games, making seaslug logos, and getting "paid" to contribute to the H-FOSS project.
Eli Fox-Epstein (Wesleyan University) hails from nippy-cold Rochester, New York. He is a rising junior at Wesleyan University where he will rule over in Science Hall in the fall. His fixations of the month are jQuery, 37Signals, ethnic cuisines, the third person, sign language, photomacrography, and white space. He has been programming in PHP since 2006 and in Javascript since 2004. He is virtually an EOC. He studies computer science because it makes him feel powerful.
Dimitar Gochev (Trinity College) is a junior at Trinity College from Bulgaria who plans to double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. He is currently working on the VirtualEOC project with the HFOSS program. He enjoys Computer Science because it requires a lot of creativity and logical thinking and it gives him a great deal of satisfaction when he is able to solve a challenging problem. When he is not in the computer lab he likes to relax with friends or play sports, particularly soccer.
Qianqian Lin (Wesleyan University), from the city that never sleeps, is still a member of the class of 2011 at Wesleyan University. She first met the glory that is computer science when she attended a summer institute at the University of Central Florida that taught her basic Java programming. She is still attracted to the problem solving and logic of the subject, and is now officially a major. Unfortunately, computers still do not like to cooperate with her. She is at HFOSS again because her dreams haven't changed, and she had a blast last summer. She is now finally working on POSIT with Antonio, Gong and Chris, and loves her new phone. Her other interests include arts & crafts, dance, and volleyball.
Ted Nichols (Wesleyan University) is from Baltimore, MD, The Greatest City On Earth That Reads. He is a rising senior at Wesleyan University and a Computer Science / Science in Society double major at Wesleyan University. He likes dancing and taking long walks in the rain. He is a Cancer. When he was thirteen he saved a baby tiger from being devoured by sharks and recently released her back into the wild. Be strong, little tiger!
Ryan Gee (Wesleyan University) is from Baltimore, MD, and is getting in on it. He is a rising Junior Computer Science major at Wesleyan University. He is interested in game programming, computer graphics and rendering. He's currently working on projects from the GNOME Accessibility Group. He enjoys documentation, video games, guitar and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
